I got a 3 on the AP World test! I'm not sure how great that even is. Does UMich even accept it? I poured so much into it and it'd be disappointing if it's not even credit. A 3 is supposed to be a passing grade right? I'm a upcoming junior btw.

Nope, they only accept a 4 or 5 http://www.admissions.umich.edu/drupal/ap-guidelines

Despite the Collegeboard claiming that a 3 is a passing score - an increasing number of universities and colleges are only accepting 4s or 5s for credit (or not accepting AP exams at all).

A 3 is the equivalent of receiving a “C” grade in a semester long World History course in college (roughly) – but don’t be too distraught, your hard work is in not in vain. First and foremost, if you poured your everything into that course and exam, that demonstrates good work ethic, something which will help you just as much, if not more, than the potential credit of the AP exam in college. You were a sophomore when you took the exam - AP World was designed for seniors and many students who take it earlier don’t even manage to pass, so you should be very proud of a 3.

Thanks man! That was really descriptive and motivational. Still kinda bummed out, but I guess I just have to look above the written grade.

I am feeling real lucky to get a 4 after seeing this thread. Probably should study next year.
