3 on Stats Exam

Hello-

First post here, after some time reading through the forum. I received a 3 on my AP Stats exam in May (junior year), and got 5s on both Lang and Comp and US History. I was wondering if it would hold back my application somewhat to schools such as Vanderbilt, Notre Dame, and Bucknell when I apply in a few months.

I only ask because I received a 94 in the class and got my letter of recommendation from the teacher who taught the course. I go to a strong public school that traditionally sends around 10 kids to Ivies every year. I am only concerned with including my 2 5s in the Common App, and potentially having colleges think I scored worse than a 3 on the Stats exam, or have them think a 3 is too low a score.

Thanks in advance for all your help!

AP scores don’t count towards admission. They are only counted as to receive credit for the class once admitted. But the 94% in AP Stats is wonderful and will help your application. The answer can’t be yes if you don’t apply so always apply to that dream school.

Do you know your are an AP Scholar already?

Don’t worry, move on.

Simply don’t report your AP stats score on your application.

[AP Credit Policy Info - Advanced Placement Program - AP Policy Search](<a href=“College Search - BigFuture | College Board”>College Search - BigFuture | College Board) Vanderbilt
[AP Credit Policy Info - Advanced Placement Program - AP Policy Search](<a href=“College Search - BigFuture | College Board”>College Search - BigFuture | College Board) Notre dame
[AP Credit Policy Info - Advanced Placement Program - AP Policy Search](<a href=“College Search - BigFuture | College Board”>College Search - BigFuture | College Board) Bucknell

Unfortuantly the 3 colleges you mentioned will not accept the Stats credit but a 3 is a passing score according to tthe College Board and most colleges. If you don’t report they can assume you got a 1. I would submit everything.

I think I’ll just end up submitting it. Thanks for the help everyone
