>3 SAT Subjects?

Is there a point to taking more than 3 subject tests?

I've seen a bunch of people on CC with 10+ APs, but only 3 or 4 SAT subjects, so it seems to be mostly disregarded. Is anybody taking more than 3?

There are definitely people who have more than 3 subject tests. I personally took 5, and I’ve seen in a number of other threads that there are also plenty of other people who took more than 3 tests.

My son took five.

Oops, I missed this question the first time around:

Taking a variety of subject tests is good if you want to demonstrate the breadth of your knowledge. It can also be helpful if you intend to show that you have a strong interest in a particular subject (i.e. a science nut taking the tests in Biology, Chemistry, and Physics). In my case, I am multilingual, and wanted to show my proficiency through taking both AP and SAT II tests. I took French, Chinese with Listening, and Spanish (scored 800, 800, and 790 respectively), and scored 5’s on the AP’s in all those languages as well as English.

Thanks! I’ll probably end up going the science nut route and taking 4 or 5, then.

My son was interested in taking more, but not interested in overly studying. He fears taking >2 or 3 may penalize him if he doesn’t put a lot of study time into it.

We’ve found Pomona College doesn’t allow score choice on the SAT subject tests and requires all subject tests scores be submitted. We haven’t found any other school that has this requirement.

Since you all are taking >3 I was wondering if you know of any schools that require all subject tests be sent.
