3 Science APs in the same year?

Ok I'm a junior in high school and Id like to know what you guys think of this schedule for my senior year. AP biology, AP chem, AP physcis B, pre-cal, regular gov't. regular english, and computer class. I enjoy science ALOT! I am planning on majoring in biology, and hopefully get accepted to med school. Biology to me is really easy, I love learning about cells, macromolecules, physiology, etc. I am currently studying for the sat biology/M. Physics is not that hard to me, I manage to get an A in Honors physics, I am the best student in my physics class. Most kids at my school find physics extremelly hard. Chemistry is not my strongest subject, I manage an A in regular chemistry, I learned some chemistry but not that much. Out of the three I would have to spend more time studyng chemistry. How hard do you guys think it will be to take the three of them in the same year. Also, Would the labs overlap?

Dont do it!!! Senior year is all the applications and maybe a life-- my d is taking 2 ap sciences and it took 3 tries just to get a schedule that fit the labs!! She had to drop Spanish to fit them in–and if you want to major in science you probably want to take the intro courses at the college level-- the more competitive the school, the less likely they will pass you out of those classes.

Do it. My friend did AP Chem AP Physics and AP Calc BC all in the same year.

^ AP Calculus BC is probably less work than Bio, though I have never taken AP Bio myself. OP, I would advise against taking that schedule–all three courses have a very hefty workload, and since they’re not really similar you’ll have a harder time trying to integrate things (unlike, say, calculus and physics). However, if you are truly confident in your ability and don’t mind a possible GPA hit, I can’t discourage you from challenging yourself.

Thanks guys. So what do you think of AP stats instead of AP physics?. Do you guys think that my knowledge of honors physics would be good enough to get a good grade in physics when I take in college?

“Do it. My friend did AP Chem AP Physics and AP Calc BC all in the same year.”

Yeah, but that’s okay because that’s only two AP sciences. Honestly, alejandrovera, I don’t think your guidance department will be able to fit into three labs and three science classes:) You will end up having to drop a lot of the classes that you may otherwise enjoy. Instead, you can self study one of the AP sciences and take the AP exam in May this year to show that you know the course, then take two sciences in school next year coupled with a harder math class (or Physics C). That will also keep you adequately challenged, and you’ll have more flexible with your schedule without those crazy labs that you have to squeeze in.

I honestly think physics will be more helpful, because in my school the honors and ap courses are vastly different, and also we don’t have ap stats. Also, calculus is known to be very helpful as well…
