3 sports in HS or 1 sport for shot at D3?

My D dropped her third sport (spring LAX) junior year to concentrate on GPA and focus a little more on field hockey which is her primary sport. Her second sport (ice hockey) is more time consuming with weight room, farther travel etc, but she loves it too much to give it up. Certain sports really complement each other and ice hockey seems to really help with FH which on turf becomes is a similarly fast game. Maybe think about which sports contribute to the end goal when making the decision. Even better if the second sport is one he LOVES. Two sports seems to help my D avoid burn out, but every situation, kid and sport is different. Many of the college coaches she spoke to encouraged her to continue to play all her sports as long as she continued to develop her primary sport and grades didn’t suffer. One D1 coach said she likes seeing success in multiple sports. Good luck with your decision.
