<p>So I just got a new prep. book and it is, unfortunately, Barron's 2008 something.. Anyways, got 3 mistakes that I don't really know their explanations. Here we go: </p>

<p>1- He worked in the lumber camps during the summer not because of the money but because he wanted to strengthen his muscles by doing hard physical labor.
(A) during (B) because of (C) but (D) hard (E) No error.</p>

<p>2- That book is liable to become a best seller because it is well writing, full of suspense, and very entertaining.
(A) That (B) liable (C) full of suspense (D) very (E) No error.</p>

<p>3- The same laser technology that is being used on compact discs is also under application to computers to achieve additional memory.
(A) being used (B) is (C) under application (D) to achieve (E) No error.</p>

<p>By the way, since we're at it anyways, do you guys think that Barron's is mainly harder than the BB or the Kaplan? I'm not saying that my performance on any of these books is an indication for anything; I'm just really disappointed by my performance on this particular test and I wonder if that's normal considering the difficulty of the Barron's book in general.</p>

<p>I believe for #1 Barron’s was thinking of a parallelism error as they use “because of the money” it should be “because of” again later. However, I don’t think it works in this situation because “because of” doesn’t fit with “he,” so I THINK, though am not sure, it is a mistake. Then again #3 proves me wrong because when you did pick an answer that matches the parallelism it chooses the most succinct answer. I have no idea what to say but get a newer edition. By the way, I don’t know why you are using Barron’s in the first place, you should just be working on official ones as they are more accurate.</p>

First, I’ve been preparing for the SAT for some time now and I don’t know why in the world 1 and 3 are incorrect. Second, I am doing Barron’s because I’ve finished the BB and other prep. books and I’m still sitting at 650W score, which I desperately hope to increase.</p>
