3 wrong (2 omit and 1 wrong) on math (prediction)

what wud 3 wrong on math be?

lol "3 wrong" would be a different score from "2 omit and 1 wrong"

really??? isnt it still the same raw score?

Yeah, it'll be different. An omit doesn't count against you, but a wrong answer reduces 1/4 of a point. CB rounds up.

ok so if i got 2 grid ins wrong and 1 mc wrong, what wudmy score most liekely be for math

2 grid in and 1 mc wrong will probably get you a 700 or so.

^ lol! no, more like... a 740?

I say around 700, +- 20.

That would be a 51/54 raw score, which corresponds to about 730.

Psh, definatly more 740ish than 700ish. The math section wasn't that easy.

omg @velleity how do u imagine 680 for 3 errors ?-3 will probably mean 740-750 on that test because it was really hard, compared to other tests.

oooo thanks guys :). can sum1 explain the rounding up part? lol sounds like a dumb q but im not quite sure i get it.

Each question you answer correctly earns you 1 point, correct? And each question you skip produces no effect, and each question you get wrong subtracts 0.25 points from your score, in addition to not counting towards your raw score.

So, basically, if you got 50 questions right out of 54, you'd have a raw score of 50 if you skipped the rest. If you got 2 wrong and skipped 2, you'd have a raw score of 49.5; however, CollegeBoard rounds up your raw score [from 0.5+] so you'd still have a 50. But if you got 3 wrong and skipped 1, you'd have a raw score of 49.25, which would round down to a 49.

Hope that helps.

oooo ok i understand now lol

idk, i remember i received 48 pts/54pts = 690. Then my second time around 52pts/54pts =740. But based on the collegeboard's 2008 - 2009 scoring guide. A raw score of 51 is 740. There are many discrepancies for each SAT test, but in the end the raw scores tend to match up with the scaled scores. I' m guessing 51 should be anywhere from 720 - 740. Anyway its still up in the 700 range, so awesome job if you do get that score.
