3 W's on Transcript

Hello, and thank you for reading this.

I am an incoming junior at UCSD majoring in Human Biology. My current GPA is 3.50. I am still taking prereqs, meaning I'm technically a year behind from all the othe students because I waited for a class to take for a whole year (only offered once a year). I have dropped Physics 1A/1AL during freshman year. And this summer, I dropped Chem 6C. This means I have 3 W's on my transcript. How are my chances of getting into dental school? My reason for dropping Physics was because it was too overwhelming, and the Chem one is because of personal family problems. What things should I do that would help me to be looked favorably to the adcom? Please help. Thank you.

It’s not as a bit of a deal as you are thinking, believe me. W’s are much easier to explain than a slew of bad performances.

I am a senior and I’ve gotten into a few dental schools. 3 W’s is a bit much, but not terrible. In the interviews they asked me about one poor semester I had and I just told them what happened. I followed it up by strong performances and that was pretty much enough. I don’t think it is a big deal at all, as long as you can prove that your are a good student (basically do well on your DAT) and you should be fine.
