Hello this is my first post but been lurking for a bit. Lots of good information here. As you can see in the title the premise of this post. Im 22 years old graduated in 2009 and went to a local community college 09-10. In between that time just been testing the job market and I've been thinking that I would like to get back in school. HS and college transcripts aren't very favorable, but my question is there any possibility that I could attend a four year school. I have some life experiences that bolster my desire for wanting to go back and also "persuade" some admission counselors. But with that aside I'm just wondering if what I asked is possible. Any responses and feedback is greatly appreciated.

The odds are that you can find a 4 year college which will accept you. The main question is what kind of major are you interested in and which schools do you aspire to attend. It is hard to be more specific without more information from you.

Yes, colleges will see the time gap and consider that you are not ready for college. However, you may have to attend a CC again to show that you’ve changed and can do the work.

Thanks for the responses. I apologize for the lack of info. I’m a resident of NY so I was interested in some SUNY schools such as Cortland, Albany, Buffalo, and Buffalo State. Possible majors would be kinesiology or other related fields. Businese mgt, economics are some others im interested. Also while I was at Dutchess Community College I was also in the EOP program.

@willie: i would love to help you navigate the college process. how many credits do you have? and what’s your college gpa?

Wow Emerson that’s great. I should be able to get ahold those things tomorrow afternoon. Once I get them I will contact you via PM.
