3 Years Of Foreign Language NEEDED?

Is 3 years of foreign language required for colleges? If so what colleges don't require/recomend that? (Please list) For the UC requirements, it says its recomended, but what does "recomended" really mean? I mean, would it SIGNIFICANTLY lower my chances if I didn't take another year? Because I'm getting a D in French, and it's bringing down my GPA alot.. And I'm kinda scared, because, what if I get a D in my junior year? Should I just cut my losses and drop the class next year, or keep taking it, and take a chance for the D. I'm doing well in all my other classes, and it's a really hard decision for me to make. My uncle thinks I should keep going because UC schools supposedly like to see consistancy.. Personally, I don't think I can make it. Can anyone PLEASE please give me some advice? :(

UCs keep getting harder to get into, and unless you have mostly As in honors and AP classes to counteract that D, a UC, other than Riverside and Merced, may not be probable. They don't want consistant Ds. If you can't handle it stop and take what you can do well in.

you can do it!!! keep trying
