3 years of one language?

Hello everyone. My private school requires 3 years of a language. Since the school is small, I chose to take an online German class instead of taking a live Spanish class. I finished 2 years of German, but I really don’t like it. It’s pretty hard (even though I got a 96 last year in it). Honestly, its just a little more time consuming then I’d like and it’s hard to take a class online, especially because it isn’t live. This year, I decided to just take the Spanish 1 live class at my school, but my schedule wouldn’t allow it. My principal told me that I could take Spanish 1 senior year or complete German this year. I have like a 4.2-4.3 GPA (weighted of course). I’m not even sure if I could somehow get into an ivy, since my school is small (and probably not very competitive) and my SAT’s will probably be low, lower than 2000 (I probably won’t even be able to get that high…I didn’t do so well on my pSAT’s… 150?) So really, my question is, should I take German 3 this year, or take Spanish 1 next year? Will it affect what college I get into? Thanks.

Yes you should take German 3 if you plan to apply to any top colleges. Many elite schools recommend and/or require 4 years. Taking 2 years German and 1 year Spanish will not meet many of the college requirements. It comes down to taking the highest level of a foreign language possible.
