30 ACT versus 1350/1980 SAT (single sitting)

For schools that state they only look at best single sitting:

SAT Score: 1350 (760M and 590CR/1400 and 1980/2400
ACT Composite: 30 (30M, 32R, 29E, 30S)

Which is better? (Concordance table says SAT is I think.) Will schools even look at both if you send both, or is it possibly they may accidentally enter the numbers that aren't as good?

your ACTs are more evenly balanced so that may make it viewed more favorably, and depending on the school. If you wish to focus on math then take the sat

30 is slighly above a 2000 so it’s better. A 1980 is about a 29-30–they’re really close.

Use percentiles over the concordance table. The concordance table uses a linear scale for all the scores, which is obviously wrong. It claims a 98% accuracy, so there’s a good ± 30-40 points.

cjgone…where are you seeing that a 30 is slightly above 2000? According to the table I have, a 30 is a 1950 to 1980.

^According to almost every other table.

Just calculate it by hand if you feel unsure using percentiles.

I’d say 1990-2020 or so.

The concordance table has some error in the top 30s because it uses a linear scale.

2nd link doesn’t give ranges.
1st is probably the most accurate using percentiles.

Anyway there’s other tables:
