300 points increase realistic?

Hey I got a 580 on math and 480 on the May SAT. Do you think its viable to get 1350 by October? I plan to do a practice test every week and review for a few hours a day plus im doing a prep course which guarantees a 300 point increase on three sections.

of course. anything is possible as long as you put time and effort into it

MAYBE
Firstly, prep classes suck. They teach you how to **** up and omit the hard questions but get the easy ones. Getting better at tests takes time. Practice tests will make you more familiar, but they will not teach you the material.
Personally, I find using the internet far more useful. Have you ever heard of Khan Academy? Look it up on google. You’ll learn all the math you could ever want to know. For the Critical Reading, READ. For the writing, look up any grammatical rules you come across in practice tests that you are uncertain about. There are all sorts of grammar websites out there. Grammarist.com is one of my preferences. But there’s also the Purdue OWL website.
Good Luck!

Keep studying/practicing, and then in October you will know that you have done the best that you can.

Ansolutely Radeon.

It’s harder to improve by 300 points when you already have a 2000+ score, but from where you are, you have a lot of room for improvement.

Unlike the above poster, I would recommend a prep class. It seems as though you’re lacking some very basic SAT testing fundamentals and those are exactly what the prep classes tackle.

So, take a prep class and don’t lose hope!

My son had nearly, a 500 point increase from Oct to Oct on the PSAT. He had more than 150 point increase in a week from the SAT to PSAT last Oct. The Writing section was the easiest to improve, Reading was the hardest to improve. (for him)
