The title pretty much says it all.

Assuming my GPA, recommendations, etc. are all up to par, is an ACT composite of 31 good enough to get accepted into Duke early admission? Even though I fall into the 98th percentile (according to ACT.com), I feel like my score is too low (probably because I see everyone on this forum complaining about ACT scores of 32, 33, and 34...lol)

Thanks

I'm sure you will be fine. 31 is not REALLY good but It's definitely very solid. So I would not worry about it much. I think the average act score for duke is between 29-33 or something like that. So you are definitely in the range bud. But I think it wouldn't hurt you to try taking it one more time in October.

lol wow I'm brilliant. In my defense I was a bit sleepy when forming this thread, so I abbreviated Early Decision with "EA."

Anyway, 31 ACT composite for Duke ED? What do you guys think?

It's fine. I know someone who got into Harvard with a 32. (But of course, his application was chock-full of leadership/volunteer/extra-curricular/athletic activities) Remember that colleges look at your whole application, not just the test scores.

the act score is great, just as long as you have high gpa/ec's a 31 usually does suffice
