34 ACT, should I take the SAT I/subject tests?

so on the september ACT i got a 34. the registration deadline for the SAT tomorrow was in september before i knew my ACT score so i registered.

anyway after getting my ACT score my guidance counselor said i should take the SUBJECT tests instead of the SAT I tomorrow.

what do you guys think? would you choose the SAT I or the subject tests in this situation?

I haven’t heard of anyone switching from the regular SAT to SAT Subject tests if you signed up for the SAT. If you can get a hold of a practice test or questions online, see how well you’d do on the subject tests.

I think it’s too late to change your test, I know that you could earlier, but I’m not sure if you can still do it now (the day before the test). But if you can, I’d go Subject Tests if you’re ready and as long as colleges don’t mind (I don’t know if have to take SAT I to be able to submit subjects, probably not though). Good job on the 34 by the way.

You can show up to the testing location and go to the room where they process standbys. They will change your test there, if they have room.

Hope this helps!

It’s fine to take the ACT and the SAT Subject tests without taking the SAT I. You can submit subject test scores without an SAT I score.

thanks for the advice guys. i did go with the subject tests. i took spanish and hope it went well, because if it did i can send it and colleges can have a complete view of me academically in all 5 major subjects (because of ACT English/Reading, Math, Science, SAT 2 History, SAT 2 Spanish)!

If you took the ACT with writing many schools will accept that in lieu of SATs AND subject tests. Most schools don’t even require subject tests.

I recall that when D was looking at colleges, Georgetown wanted SAT II’s to go with your ACT score.
