35.25 ACT

Okay Im not trying to be arrogant at all. But Im actually kinda pissed and frustrated that I missed a 36 by so little. I was trying to use my ACT to reimburse my mediocre GPA.

June 2015 ACT: (34E, 36M, 35R, 36 S)

Im a minority and English is not my thing lol.

how do some of the elite colleges look at these kind of scores? And how does the writing factor? Do they look at how english/writing score? or just English MC and writing as seperate?

One of my friends also got a 35.25 on the ACT. But worrying over that extra point is quite absurd. It won’t make a difference

@hsstudent2015 Is a 35.25 ACT = 2370 SAT according to the 2290 - 2370 SAT Scale? And does the english/writing combined scores matter or just the essay score?

A high ACT score won’t ‘reimburse’ a mediocre GPA. How mediocre of a GPA?

35.25 sounds like 2330-2350. But what’s the difference? lol

Like MrWiggles said, your ACT can in no way “reimburse” your GPA. In fact, GPA is considered more in the process at many top schools for that exact reason; that is, that one test should not be a way to replace four years of academic work.

don’t waste another second of your life thinking about that one (or 2) questions wrong. That is essentially the same. If you constantly seek perfection, you can miss everything else! Enjoy your success on the test!

Simply, it’s great. Don’t worry about it or you’ll have unnecessary nightmares. I would imagine you have some issue if you are panicking over a .75 (or .25, depending on how you interpret this) difference. Seriously.

I would worry a bit about GPA though. You see, grades and test scores are the basis, but then, once they are seen as great, it gets complex.

I got a 30 on the ACT. You should be extremely proud of yourself man. I

My unweighted GPA is ~3.9 its not that mediocre I may have been being hard on myself @MrWiggles @BeCambridge @bringit1 How does that my chances for Duke for example?

@nevergiveupp I swear to God that Duke will not reject you based on a 0.1 difference.

Anyone who gets 34-36 is in the top 1%. A 36 is like the top 0.04%. I don’t think anyone’s going to split hairs over you missing a rounded-up 36 by a quarter point.

Had you taken the ACT before? Any chance of a 36 superscore?

I also got a 35.25, and have been fretting over it a lot. I recently had a dream (nightmare?) where I was submitting a score that said 35.9 to colleges. :frowning:

Dude, I feel the same way. I got a 29.25. But you have it a lot better than me
