35 on English but no errors

So apparently this happened to other people as well
...my score report says that I got a 35 on English but my subscores are 18/18 and 18/18, which I believe is full score...shouldn't the score be 36 then? If this is a mistake, who should I contact?

Thanks!

i had a 16 and 16 in Social Studies/Sciences and Arts/Literature, so my score should have been 32 in reading instead of 31. idk if that is a mistake. also how do they calculate the total for math?

Boinks, I would call ACT.

Here is the ACT link to subscores. (about 1/2 down page) [ACT Score Information: Understand your scores](<a href=“ACT Test Scores | ACT Scoring | ACT”>ACT Test Scores | ACT Scoring | ACT)

This section shows your scores on each of the multiple-choice subject area tests and your associated subscores. Subscores give you information about your specific strengths and weaknesses in the areas these tests cover. The subscores are computed separately; there is no arithmetic relationship between subscores and test scores (i.e., the test score is not the sum of the subscores). If you left any multiple-choice test completely blank, that test score is reported as a dash (–).

got it, thanks

happened to me last time. i got 18/18 subscores. I got my hand on the packet/answers turned out i missed one.

yea

No, 18/18 does not mean no errors. It means the curve for either one or the other subscore permitted one or more mistakes. They do not necessarily indicate a perfect score (exactly as a 36 does not imply a “perfect” question score)

if you made no errors, you would have gotten a 36

Wow that’s so weird because based off my scores, I was pretty sure there was a +1 curve for English because I got 18/16 and still got a 35.
