I read about kids getting 35's who want to retake.... and everyone says "don't bother"
Then I read about 34's wanting 35's, and they say "Dont bother."
But is a 33 too low? is that the threshold that.... "separates the men from the boys?" per se.
I really want a 34 and I know that would make me a good contender but if a get 30-33 does that make me just stupid or should I continue to retake it?

Well, no, the issue usually arises because people try studying for just one point and wasting lots of time when they could have done like 50 hours more of community service, etc. that looks better than whether or not your composite increased by one.

Anything 33+ is 99% of country. My DD got a 33 and she is now done. Really don’t think it matters anymore. I just want her to focus on essay now and finishing applications in August.

You should enjoy senior year without stressing over exams.

Depends on where you are applying and what else you have on your resume.

34 is the cut off for the top 1 percent, so that is why that number is often mentioned. Interstingly here where students are required by state law to take an ACT in spring of Junior year (no matter what their score before) 3 students who had scored a 36 in their one time prior sitting scored a 34 on the second test.
