My friend has taken both the ACT and the SAT (rising senior) and got a 36 on the ACT, while only scoring a 1980 on the SAT. I know that they're different tests that test different aspects of learning/aptitude, but a 36 ACT supposedly converts to about a 2390-2400 on the SAT. She plans on only reporting her ACT score so the low SAT score doesn't necessarily matter, but I just think that the huge difference in score is really weird. Is this normal? Have any of you seen something like this before? I'm not exactly sure that the score breakdown was, but math was significantly higher than CR/Writing.

In the opposite direction, I know someone with a 2380(equivalent to a 36) and a 31. But that’s a ridiculous score difference… I don’t see how someone can get a 36 but only a 1980 on the SAT.
