36 Act/2400 Sat

Hello! My friend has a 3.8 GPA and has perfect ACT scores and SAT scores. he also has perfect SAT 2 scores in 3 subejct areas, including latin. He was national merit finalist, and an intel semi finalist, and he wants to apply to Brown PLME, princeton, harvard, and yale. What are his chances? THANKS

Oh yes, might I add...... there are only 250 perfect scorers in the ACT

I have a friend that just scored a 36 on his ACT... and scored a perfect SAT score as well. He has a 2.8 GPA, and 4 perfect SAT 2 subject tests. What are his chances at brown PLME and yale?

Are you talking about a different friend??

No I am sorry.... i messed up...... a typo....he scored a 3.8 GPA not a 2.8! Sorry!

numbers don't guarantee anything

yeah i know..... that his problem.... but I mean!

im sure he will get into most of those schools.

Unless there's anything sketchy about him... like a criminal record... he's pretty much in everywhere with 800 on every SAT and SAT II and those big awards. My friend sounded very similar (800 on every SAT II and on each part of the SAT, as well as numerous science awards), and got in everywhere he applied.

He's not "pretty much in everywhere" until he proves that he isn't a robot on his essays and interview and stuff. It's pretty safe to say he has great, great shots at every school, but there is always a question mark when you're talking about those top places.

my bad arti...

What sets him apart from others? I know of schools as selective as Harvard (and probably Harvard itself) that reject over half of the perfect SAT scorers.

Undoubtedly, the numbers are fantastic, but so are the numbers of rejected students. Things like ECs would help guage chances beyond what you've given us, but based on numbers alone, the odds seem pretty good.

This would help . . . that is, if all schools were trying to fill up their undergraduate class with perfect ACT scorers, which they really aren't. However, they what they do want is high scores, and your friend's got those.

lollerskates, what was the GPA of your friend with perfect scores?

National Merit Finalist? You're not notified until next year...this is fake.

I'm not sure. He didn't ever brag about his grades... I didn't even find out his SAT scores through him firsthand. He wasn't valedictorian, but my school only selects 1 even if many have the same GPA. He got into Harvard EA, but turned it down for Deep Springs.

lol, why? was he valedectorian?

haha sorry jason. I think I edited my post to add the valedictorian part while you had the same question!

Sure HYPM reject perfect SAT scorers all the time, but this kid was also an intel semifinalist. I'd say he's in almost everywhere he applies.

You can't be an Intel semifinalist till you're a senior because that science competition is meant ONLY FOR SENIORS!!!!!

Wow, I never realized how many people post fake stats on CC. I would be pretty impressed if there is a student in the Class of 2007 who has a perfect ACT score, a perfect SAT score, and 3 perfect SAT II scores though...;)

If I got a bit luckier on the sat essay I would have that and the act is cake from what I have heard. Hella bad students get 32+ on it at my school.

you know beenpro123, it really annoys me that you would waste our time on your ridiculous posts. And the reason it annoys me isn't so much that it takes the time of so many people, but rather that it steals that time from other students who really need the help in deciding which schools to apply to, which courses to take, what scholarships may be available, and in picking the best school to attend to be successful in their future careers and lives.

While you may find your actions humorous, the people whose posts get unanswered as result may not be quite so amused.
