36 hours and counting...what do you do?

my biggest weakness is basically the vocab DAMN i’m freaking lousy at that! but the thing is i don’t want to memorize words i want to build up my active english vocabulary
so you went from a 18xx to 2000+ in three weeks? guess if i’ll study till june i’ll might get a good score as well
am not a big fan of books either i’d rather watch a movie
so you answer the questions while reading? i usually read the whole passage and then move on to the q’s

On the writing the same rules are pretty much used over and over. After taking a lot of tests I started to recognize them easily and sometimes right off the bat. However there are a couple of facepalm moments that I have when I accidentally go through a question too fast. I still manage to get around a 750 on writing though

care to share the patterns you have figured out?

I’m nervous for this test! My biggest problem is math, but I have an SAT tutor who has helped my increase my score by 130 points. Hopefully, I won’t draw a blank and will do well :)

To all you nervous CCers out there taking the sat for the first time: your previous scores on practice tests mean nothing, they are just used as an attempt to gauge your level. For example, on the two practice tests i took 2 weeks before march i scored a 2100 and a 2120 respectively, on the real test i got a 2320. so don’t be too nervous the only thing that matters and that can help you at this point is a good night’s sleep.

i did the math & writing section in test 2 of the BB… 610 & 640. i’ve been stressing out all week: it’s my first time taking the SAT and i don’t want to start off on a rough note. my biggest fear is getting a mediocre score after all the time and effort i put into this. im looking to get an 1800+

for these next 30 or so hours, i’ll be relaxing. i’ll probably read up on some potential essay examples.

Just took a practice test from the blue book, got a 2260 (even with two stupid mistakes in math, 760).

I’m horrid at essays though, I assumed I got a nine. Do you guys have any suggestions on how to prepare quickly for an essay?

(I only have two “go-to” examples right now: Steve Jobs, and Apple. Can you guys make some recommendations?)

you mean you incorporate those two examples in every task?

also is it ok to make up stuff? i guess it’s not that impressive but still say if an essay subject comes up that you dont know much about

Foreverflawless: I think it’s ok to use one exaple that is made up as long as it is well written.

Less than 12 hours…

Dude I think you’re stressing too much.

i was a lil’ scared. and now,it’s less than 12 hrs OMGGGG! GOOD LUCK TO YOU ALL!

This is it son, leaving the city for a test center. Good luck errbody.

I better go and do several math sections and then, I will review my vocabulary.

Best of luck!

Hey guys. With APs, I only had a chance to do one practice test. I barely scraped 2000, but I’d really like to be at 2200-ish. Any last minute tips?

wow
my first sat test in less than 10 hours
i’m so nervous yet excited
does anybody know some universally applicable examples for essay prompts?

I’m taking the SAT at a school I’ve never been to. Will there be signs or something pointing to the SAT rooms? I haven’t been given any info besides which school and its address.

when i took my first test i just followed other kids. And there are signs available.
