It is interesting to see these numbers going up so high when the overall highschool going population numbers have stopped growing and are in fact going down. Although most of the the top schools target 10% internationals, I notice none of the schools are breaking out the percentage of international appliants.
Any idea about the number of engineering applicants? Also, what do you think will be the scene with international admissions this year? Will it increase or stay the same?
^^ No idea about engineering applicants, however Harvard does restrict’s international students to about 10%-11% of their incoming freshman class. That’s been true for the last 30 years, so I see no reason why Admissions should suddenly change the status quo.
@texaspg I’d be interested in seeing how much of the growth in the applicant pool is coming from oversees as well. Dartmouth did away with need blind admissions for internationals this year. No doubt some applicants switched their focus to schools like Harvard instead.
