in the AP score section i reported my scores.. and they were basically a straight line of 3's.. now im starting to regret my decision to be honest :-( Am i basically going to get rejected despite all my other good qualifications?

yes, you will be rejected

these questions are stupid because you can do nothing about them anyway. so why ask? do you seek moral boost? assurance? or "you suck"?

no one's opinion will change your fate

Don't worry too much about it. There are so many other test scores and other things that they look at.

Innocentstalker, don't degrade peoplel. I'm sure sudaneya can get in if he/she has the other qualifications.

dear olivia, i did not degrade people, but some type of questions they ask. please do not patronize me

it doesn't really matter what type of questions are asked here...it doesn't take away anything from the forum, so if you're annoyed by these types of questions and you think they're "stupid", don't answer.

and you are answering the OP's question, how?

i'm not (and neither did you, you just criticized the question), because i don't know (and neither do you, but somebody else might). it might give the op peace of mind if somebody shares their experiences or help him/her decide if he/she should list their ap scores on other apps. chill out.

i'm the calm one, dear corinao. the OP has attempted to attain his "piece of mind" by posting the same question in 10 sub-forums. a waste of web resources, if you ask me.

Well, sudan is trying to get a sense of where she stands in terms of the strength of her candidacy. it's natural for ppl to be curious, and this forum is intended for people to ask any questions that people may have. no one is required to respond to the questions, however.

besides, just because sudan can't change anything now, doesn't mean future applicants reading this thread can't benefit from this.

sudan, ap scores do take up a piece of the pie. if there are 3's(which are really easy to get) in areas that you proclaim to be your strengths, yes. they will hurt you

Harvardman is right, but the key thing here is the wording:

If you said that you were really really smart in Calculus and you only got a 3, then the admissions committee won't think of you too highly.

If you say that you have an intense passion for Calculus and you learn more about it every day, then the effect is probably just the opposite.
