4.0?

Okay, so right now I have a 4.0. It's only my first semester freshman year, so I'm just wondering, if I tried to transfer for fall '06 would my current 4.0 outweigh my HS transcript? How much do they look at HS stuff when transfering?

i dont know about answering your specific question, but if you go to a college that is reputable for demanding academics, i'd assume that the 4.0 would certainly outweigh your gpa from HS. i'm doubting however, that your HS gpa was low, though, since it's particularly hard to maintain a 4.0 in college.

good luck, though. i know, however, that the 4.0 will be a plus for you.

if you still have the 4.0 this time next year-- your golden. right now it could look like a fluke, although a very impressive fluke (especially to me lol). Still congrats

haha thanks! I got lucky and got all of my first choice classes (so I genuinely love all of them) and an amazing schedule with no classes before 11am, so I guess it helps. I had a 3.4ish in HS (super hard HS) with an upward trend (something like a 2.8 freshman year from a d in french and a c in physics ug did I regret not trying back then). As silly as it sounds I kind of have a super reach goal of transfering into stanford one day, so I'm thinking if I can possibly keep this amazing number up, despite my HS transcript, if I have any hope of transfering into stanford. I go to Bucknell btw, so it's not a flimsy school.

I wish I had 4.0 for any one semester but somehow B's just sneek in. I want to cry again. If classes for this semester were high level class, that will help cover for your high school grades. Since you didnt mention anything regarding about troubles at your current school, keep it up for two more semester. Congrats on your super start.
