4/14 ACT Thread

there is a conversion on google if you just type in sat vs act conversion
something along those lines
i think a 33 is like a 2200

A 2220 is pretty solid for Columbia, but there are a lot of other factors involved. I hope they don't look into the ACTs too deeply. Either way, I'm probably going to re-take the ACTs.

whats the other hard ones.

please tell me the cosine graph is even,,, i couldnt rememebr

Yeah, I got even.

Whatd you guys put for that cos x tan^-1 (a / b) question?

Yeah, even.

more importantly...for science...how would the DNA hypothesis person disprove the protein hypothesis because it seemed to be that none of the choices disproved it, even we know that it is false.

and the highway one for math was 12, correct?

i put the graph was even because both 6 and -6 had the same y value. it said that even was that f(x)= f(-x). odd was f(-x)= -f(x). the highway one i think was 12. the cos (tan^1 (a/b)) was the b over the square root of a^2+b^2.

Yeah, 12 for highway.

I forgot what I wrote for the DNA-Protein question you're asking about; maybe if I heard the choices.

Yeah, the math highway was 12.

fjohn....b/hypotenuse

twelve? i got 44

i hope i put 12, but i have the feeling i put 8

and i completely forgot which one is even/odd on the cosine
gr

Do you remember what choice that was sanraw? I guessed on that question because I ran out of time. I don't even remember what I guessed.

umm for disproving the protein i don't remember the choices but i do remember that I put there are varying amounts of protein in each cell it was question 39 on the science i believe

ok i rememebr i totally guess on the highway one,

can anyone explain it??

I put the same as sanraw for #39 on Science.

b/hypotenuse was like choice D?

wow
i think i completely bombed this, unless i got lucky guessing on the last few on a couple of sections. i hope everyone else feels the same so its a big curve =/

if the original radio station has a radius of 52 miles and is 100 miles away from the other station with a radius of 60, the original station covers to 48 miles from the other station and the other station covers that 48 plus 12 more. so 12 is the answer.

meaning 12 :)
