My high school sends around4-6 kids to the ivy league every year. Each class had under 300 kids (around 275-295), so is this percentage considered good? The school is in central jersey, in competition with some of the best school disricts in the Nrotheast- Princeton, West Windsor, Montgomery. (State rank is around top 20). Im wondering because I want to know if colleges will look at my school as one with inflated grades, and thus reject my relatively low GPA (according to CC standards. lol.)

Our school sends like NONE to the ivies. We barely sent anyone to the top UC. That is a very competitive school for its size. Obviously larger schools like Arcadia sends way more...

Dude wts West Windsor beats Princeton ANY DAY! Hehe thanks for mentioning us - we really do rock, don't we? And good job at not mentioning Plainsboro. We try to avoid our worse half. Hehe.

Which school do you go to? If you say East Brunswick I'll laugh in your face.

Your high school sounds good, but not spectacular. My high school in Mont county, maryland, sent 27/500 to ivies last year- a much higher percent.

You might want to look at papachicken Top 20 MATRICULATION lists from high school web sites where he lists many of the stats you are asking about.

Hmmm....mine sent 1 to Brown last year out of 160ish I think. This year we have someone who has a really good chance at Princeton (he is like a genius) and many others with pretty good chances at the Ivies they are applying to.

Out of 5000 graduates in the last ten years at my school, 10 have gone to Cornell (the closest and Ivy) and 2 have gone to other Ivies. I hope to be number 3.

it depends where you're looking at. its pretty good in comparison to small schools in the middle of nowhere, but for central jersey, it's not that impressive..

it sounds kind of like you're describing hoval (my hs)

Stuyvesant High School's class of 2004 had 40% (~400) kids go solely to Ivies. The rest got into tier one schools!

my school sends an average of 15-20 kids/400-450 to ivies every year, most of the top 100 go to tier 1 schools

We regularly have around 25-35 ivies out of a class of 950. Most of our top quarter students get into tier 1 schools, or UT Pharm/Business.

In my school, out of a class size of 500, generally ~25 go to ivies.

Last ten years in my district we've had one Cornell and 2 Dartmouths. We've also had a Swattie.

But that's it.

Total combined graduating classes would be between 400-700. Most top kids end up at Lehigh and Villanova, the resxt go to Penn State, Temple, and the local State U.
