4 in APUSH exam?

My D is flipping out about this. Not even so much about college entry, but about the “discussion” amongst friends. “I got a 5, what’d you get?” I just hate the emphasis we/they/colleges put on this meat market of grade. She was a soph in highschool forgodsakes! A 10th grader !!!

They can’t even enjoy themselves because of this horseshi.te system we have in place. I take blame too…but it’s just horrible.

She’ll be fine of course. In the life of a 3.8 white kid from the burbs getting 4’s on AP exams…this doesn’t seem to tip the scales toward a meaningless life of self loathing.

But i’m just sayin’ !!

I can’t tell if you trolling or serious… But lmao getting a 5 on APUSH is a tough to say… Unless you 100% sure perfect on the MC or -1/-2… The essays you had left over time to triple and quadriple check… You also get compared in writing with other people. Anyways if your really unsatisfied… You can always let your D retake

This isn’t like AP Calc where you can tell if you got it right or wrong

^^ I’m not sure what you’re talking about it’s not that hard to get a 5 on on AP exam. It’s usually if you get at least a 60% on MC with at least an average of a 6 for the essays then you receive a 5. I’m not saying it’s incredibly easy or anything but it’s not as hard as you make it out to be. Also the grade emphasis is pretty lax here in America. I’m not sure what Horeshi.te system is but the AP exam system is nothing like the other educational systems placed in other countries. If you think getting 4’s on APs are tough, try Asia and their exams. Those tests are tough and they account for a lot more. Anyways, just don’t worry about the scores too much. Their not that big of a deal and your daughter won’t worry about them much soon anyways.

Definately wasn’t trolling, but just trying to take the edge off a bit by acknowledging that this topic isn’t life or death. It’s just a test score…which by the way, is the whole point of my whining. That we really do push our kids into a system whereby everything is reduced to numbers.
