4 or 5 AP's

I am in a predicament. My current schedule for Senior year looks like this:
AP Chemistry
AP Calculus BC
AP Latin Vergil
AP U.S. Government and Politics
H English 12
H Band

Now, I also have the option of taking AP Physics C: Mechanics (full year course) in place of band. However, I do not want to go insane Senior year... With the exception of Band, none of the courses I am taking are easy, and will take a lot of time to succeed in. I did get an A in Honors Physics this year with the same teacher who does AP... but I have heard AP is WAY harder (and Honors was still of course challenging, with only 10% of the people in the class getting A/A- 's... the majority got C's).

My real question is, given the classes I am already taking, does it even make a signifiacant difference to add the 5th AP... I mean, I am already taking an AP science so...

Any advice would be great, thanks.

Does it make a significant difference? No, not really. Senior year is so hectic, with college and scholarship applications, classes, and extracurriculars, that it may be in your best interest not to overload yourself if you couldn’t do well in the class AND devote time to everything else. If it was me, though, I would probably take it just to show that I had the most rigorous course load available, but that’s irrelevant.

Also, what’s your major going to be in college?

Math/science related… but I think AP Chemistry and AP Calc BC (honors calc and AP calc AB are also offered) show this interest well. Also, last year I took AP Bio, so that helps as well.

^Yeah, I think you’ll definitely be fine without it. You’ve got your maths and sciences covered, and your classes, as you said, are difficult as it is.

Don’t overload that schedule with AP Physics. It’s one of the hardest exams there is, and if you plan on being heavily involved in school, in addition to filling out loads of college apps, then skip the course.
