I applied to 4 reach/stretch schools, 3 of which are pretty tough schools (but not unobtainable). Id be happy to go to any of the 4 and each school knows that I am very interested. With the strange ways that college admissions often work out, do you think that it is likely I get accepted to at least one of these schools? Thanks

i assume you atleast applied to 2 safety schools =/ unless you plan on going to a cc if rejected and transferring =D which is a great option also

ya, i applied to 12 schools in total, 4 of which i consider reaches, the rest are likelies/safeties.

well 12 schools is not the norm, and it seems the jump from about 10 schools to 12 was these reaches. It depends on what kind of candidate you are for each school, obviously, and everything is not a total crapshoot. If you had 1200/2400 SATs, you could apply to all Top 10 schools and not get into 1. On the other hand, you could have perfect scores, bestselling author, etc, etc, and get into all 10. People call it a crapshoot because there is so much gray area and you don't know what each college deems most important. Good luck :0

3.7 weighted gpa
1310/1970 SAT
Good ECs

Reaches: Boston College, Lehigh, Wake Forest, Villanova

the only reach school I applied to was Brown

I applied to only 3 reaches and 1 match. I win? LOL

so what do you think?

BC is a reach with a 1970? oh **** lol (i got a 1980 and thought it was a match for me)

I applied to 2 safeties and 5 reaches.

i applied to 1 safety, 2 match, and 5 reaches lol

i think that BU is a match, not a reach

pyar, I live about 30 minutes from BC and EVERY SINGLE PERSON in my school wants to go to BC.... so its kind of a reach for everyone in/around my town. you have to have really good stats or some catch to get in.

well my counselor told us 8-9 colleges is usually the max, 3 reaches, 3 mid level colleges, 2 or 3 safeties or else you'll kill yourself with essays

1 out of 4?? what do you think my chances are?
