Yes, my son called about an hour ago to tell us that they were alerted through the UD Alert system. Let’s hope it doesn’t spread.

It is everywhere. Good Luck.

I wonder if these students might have gone to Mexico for spring break.

I just read this in the Philadelphia Inquirer:

None of the four students have traveled to Mexico recently, said Jay Lynch, health and social services department spokesman. One had been to New Jersey, one to Florida and one to Chicago over spring break, however. Officials are unsure how the students may have come in contact with the illness, he said.

Six more students (now 10 total) were identified as probable today, including one who went to Mexico on spring break

My son told me today that he has heard that about another 200 kids have been tested for the swine flu. The kids are all apparently running to health services even with only allergy type symptoms. I guess we’ll be hearing of more confirmed cases over the next few days. Many extracurricular activities have been cancelled. They haven’t officially cancelled classes yet, but don’t be surprised if that happens next. I guess every institution has to play it’s role in trying to contain the spread, which I’m not disagreeing with. But some of the hysteria is a little of hand. After all, it’s a flu, not AIDS or cancer!
