Hi, so i'm an incoming junior and i have done cross ckuntry for both freshman and sophomore year. I'm considering quitting cross country because of my course load. Also, i'm creating a club this year and becoming a leader in another one. I was jusr wondering if four years of this sport really matters to colleges if i'm replacing it with other extracurriculars

If you really like cross country, I say keep doing it! You’ll be a lot happier. But if you don’t, there is no reason to do it. I don’t think it really matters to colleges if you did it for 4 years. Good luck!

0 years of sports doesn’t matter either

I’m just worried that 5 AP classes, running, and running clubs would be too much with my other volunteering

If running has too much of a time commitment (I know it is for a lot of people) and you don’t particularly have a passion for it, then quitting is not a bad option. I know plenty of people who get into top schools without having even touched a single sport.

EDIT: I just realized that, by “many”, I mean the majority. I just realized that like nobody from around here who got into top schools really did any sports. Hm.

Thank you so much. That actually really calmed me

Unless you are varsity and hoping to get a sports scholarship, it’s not a big deal. Junior year already is going to be hectic as is.
