4 Years of Foreign Language for the Ivy League?

I am registering for Senior Year classes and was hoping to avoid taking another year of foreign language. This means I would only have three years of foreign language in high school. That being said, I took 5 consecutive years of Chinese when middle school is included. So, I was in AP Chinese my junior year. I didn’t take the AP Chinese test or any subject tests. Would I be at a significant disadvantage in terms of admissions if I don’t take another year of foreign language my senior year? Thanks!

No. If you’ve completed level 4 or AP, you’ve fulfilled their recommendations. That said, most Ivy League colleges and their peers have foreign language requirements for graduation, so you might want to take the Subject Test in November rather than waiting to take the placement test in college.

I agree : if you reached AP level, you reached the requisite level, and take the subject test in November to certify it plus help placement.

@skieurope @MYOS1634 I may be in AP, but I am very bad at Chinese. I wouldn’t be taking the subject test. Are your answers still the same?

Yes. Although the subject test is much easier than AP so you could give it back try.

I agree with @MYOS1634 , so yes, my answer is the same.
