  1. Ivy League schools give zero merit money.
  2. Rice you have a great shot of getting in and a decent shot of scholarships. I visited two weeks ago and there were definitely a LOT of scholarship opportunities.
  3. UCB gives almost nothing to OOS students. They have a few merit scholarships but they're very selective.
  4. The 40 acres scholarship is insane. It's like 20 spots for 3000 applying students. You have a shot, but for a scholarship like that you need something to define you as different. They use the 40 acres as publicity and a way to take Ivy League applicants. If they were to write a paragraph bragging about your achievements, what would they say?
  5. I believe you have a much better chance for the McDermott. UTD has a lower level of competition especially for a student with your stats. A girl from my school two years ago had a 36 ACT, 3/20 class and not many ECs and got it.
