How are you going to keep yourselves busy in the meantime?

I’ll probably start working on my other applications to keep my mind off Penn and make the time go faster.

I’m so nervous…

How are you going to keep yourselves busy in the meantime?

I’ll probably start working on my other applications to keep my mind off Penn and make the time go faster.

I’m so nervous…

I don't really want to work on other applications...I don't know, focus on school and start other apps dec 1?

i dont either =( i think ill just cut and paste stuff into commonapp and call it a day.

ive actually got loads of work to do this month so ill be busy - but ill still be counting down days. lol

I don't want to put off my applications for too long, because my guidance counselor apparently needs at least a month before deadlines...
So, I gotta start on them soon.
I hope to God I get accepted to Penn and can just burn the rest of my apps.

bonfire!!!

To help the countdown one of my friends who is applying ED and I decided to name all the other kids from our school applying ED, what school they were applying to in Penn, and who had legacy status. Makes you more scared than you should be.

ahhhhhhh i did not think i was going to get so worked up over this, but i really have. time pretty much couldn't go by any slower. and i used to feel really confident about my chances... but now im not so sure. my sat 2s are so bad. and im so nervous. :(:(:(:(:(

wow venekater. Only three people applied to Penn early in my school. usually at least one gets in because we have Penn alumni roaming our hallways (teachers/staff/etc.) gahh i hate stress so much. I hope it's not getting to my hair.

how do you know who applied early to penn at your school? do they tell everyone or is there like an official list?

yes, there's an official list. There's a software called Daedelus that keeps track of the your college deadlines and whatnot. The teacher that I help out showed me the list. It had the name of the people, their gpa and the school they're applying early. thumbs up!

wow
so now i know why its called public school... lol
only about 25 ppl in my school have even heard of penn. actually, only about 10% even go to college after graduation.
i nvr knew things were so different outside of so.FL.

heh same here..only outside of the suburbs of NY. Three kids from my school are applying EA to Harvard. One of them has an 88 avg. Would that be ambition or cockiness?

uhhh is it bad if i haven't recieved a confirmation e-mail yet? (though commonapp shows the status of my app as "submitted")

ya i havent received confirmation yet either...
Same with my school Minor6th, I live on Long Island and most kids dont even know that Penn is ivy league lol

kids in my school would spell ivy league with an I.V.
lol

but they do kno that the fresh prince of bel-air is from west philadelphia!!

my gc said that the confirmation letters usually don't arrive until the middle of November; he said that last year around the 15th, ED applicants got a letter saying what day the decisions would be posted (last year it was like Dec. 14th at 7P, EST). He also said that students get interview calls around that time as well. I remember reading in the Daily Pennsylvanian that they do an ED article around the end of November that tallies the # of applications they received, cite geographic and ethnic differences, and then say that the review process usually begins after thanksgiving : / this is a lot of speculation, don't take my word for it.

btw, three kids are applying early to penn, not including a bball player already recruited to wharton. im freaking out!
