<p>I’m an REU student here in Tuscaloosa for the summer, and I’m not very familiar with the area. Is there anywhere that does a fireworks show for the 4th? Or anything else fun, like a parade or something? I just don’t want to spend Independence Day sitting in my dorm lol. Thanks in advance!</p>

<p>BTW…I like that the center divider down Veteran’s Memorial Drive is lined with flags this week.</p>
<p>Plus they’re going to blow up a building (Rose Towers) at 8am. That would be very cool to watch and somewhat like fireworks. :)</p>

<p>Unless things have changed, you can cross the river over to Northport and buy/discharge your own fireworks there. That said, be sure that you aren’t lighting off any fireworks within the Tuscaloosa city limits as Tuscaloosa prohibits private discharge of fireworks.</p>
<p>Hopefully someone will post a video of the Rose Towers implosion, maybe even one synced to “Disco Inferno.” :)</p>
<p>^^^Oh, I like that one, Seatide. It does look like my disco ero dormitory, at least from the outside. And from what I’ve heard, it has the infamy of Studio 54.</p>
<p>Go see the demolition of Rose! Get video! I wish they would pull a V for Vendetta and add a few fireworks to the implosion

<p>And m2ck, my reu is going well. We’ve done lots of reading, designed our experiment, now just waiting on equipment. Definitely has been a learning experience!</p>
<p>Maybe I’ll drag myself out of bed for the demolition lol. I’m going to the ringo Starr concert at the amphitheater tonight, so hopefully I’ll still be able to wake up in time for that. I’m definitely interested in watching the Tuscaloosa symphony orchestra tomorrow!</p>
