<p>uhhh depends on the schools gpa system. some schools go up till like 11.00 so duhh its possible. and if it is weighted on like a 4.0 scale also.</p>

<p>depens how your school weighs grades, in PBC its 1.5x for AP(a=6,b=4.5), 1.125 for honors (a=4.5,b=3.375)... so having a schedule of just AP & honors your junior and senior years means HPA>5.0</p>

<p>With the scale we use, its fairly easy to get over a 5.0.
Unweighted (Standard A=4, B=3, C=2, D=1, F=0) + .0333 for each honors + .0666 for each AP (If you get an A or B; C=honors credit)</p>

<p>At my school, weighted classes here are worth 4.5, so I think the highest possible you can is in the high 4.2's.</p>

<p>If you take all non-AP courses pass/fail (available here) one can earn a GPA of 5.</p>

<p>For me it is this:
**=double weight, 5.0 for A, 4.0 for B, 3.0 for C, etc.
*=single weight, 4.5 for A, 3.5 for B, 2.5 for C, etc.
None weighted are 4.0 for A, 3.0 for B, etc.</p>

<p>All APs are double weight. Harder classes like Gen Chem, Adv. Alg., Comp Sci, etc. are single weight. To get a 5.0, you have to have all ** classes and get A's in them.</p>

<p>Depends. My friend goes to a public school in New York and she has a 5.0, and that's unweighted. </p>

<p>I just noticed that my school does not use the "4.0" system. We go by percentages from 0-100. Like, let's just say that someone's cumulative average for the year is a 92% That's how we do things. I'm glad. The "4.0" scale annoys me.</p>

<p>My county's stingy or something. An honors or AP is only worth an additional .17.</p>

<p>We weight, honors and AP classes get you +1 point, so AP/IB/honors A=5, B=4, etc., but it's impossible to get a 5.0 because we have so many classes where weight is not an option, like PE and health and tech ed which they don't offer in honors.</p>
