My freshman year of highschool i didnt do too well. Sophmore year was better but not by a whole lot. Right now i have a 3.7 gpa and i really need to get it up to a 4.0 at least. If i do pretty well my junior year with 5 APs, a 4.0 is possible. However, im afraid im going to be too overwhelmed. Being honest, my work ethic isnt great. I procasinate and I am very lazy. However, i always find my self getting things done and im ready to try my best and change my work ethic. Im so desperate to get my gpa up. The classes im planning on taking are AP chem, AP physics, APUSH, AP lang, and AP enviromental, Pre calc HN, and Leadership. I only took AP world history my sophmore year because that was the only AP avaiable for sophmores. It seems impossible for me but i know this is the way to get my gpa up. I would like to know your opinion on it and maybe your exprience about your junior year. Thanks!
Are you talking about weighted or unweighted? Because it seems that you’re only going to hurt your GPA by taking 5 AP classes.
5 AP classes require a great amount of work ethic. Even 3 APs have taken down people if they don’t stay focused. I’d focus more on which AP classes you want to explore than stack them all on top of each other. Taking a lot of AP classes for a rigorous class schedule will only hurt you if you get bad grades.
For my junior year, I settled on three AP classes and that was enough for me. I took four my senior year with a fairly strong GPA and still managed getting into a top-50 university. A girl in my grade who took 4 APs her junior year and 6 for her senior year failed miserably and got far behind me in our class ranking.
