5 AP's

I'm an upcoming junior in high school.
For this year, I'm taking
-AP Language and Comp
-AP US History
-AP Calc AB
-AP Chemistry

and I dont have any other class to take, so I wanted to take AP Statistics.
People around me have told me not to do it and said that I won't be able to handle it.

Do you think 5 AP's are too much?
How hard is AP Statistics, AP Chemistry, and AP Calc?

Thanks.

I'm also an upcoming junior in high school and will be taking 8 APs next year. I'm pretty sure you can handle stats, it's quite easy. Calc as well. Chemistry is tougher though, and I've heard APUS is the demon. Lots of memorizing to do.

As long as you make most your classes by learning a lot in them, you should be fine for the exams.

Last year as a junior I had 5 AP's:

AP Art History
AP Psychology
AP Biology
AP English Language
AP U.S. History

It wasn't too bad. I mean I didn't make A's in all of them. I only made A's in Art History and U.S. History, but it was worth it.

If you really want to take 5 APs, go for it, otherwise you will probably waste a lot of time.

AP Stats is easy as both a class and an exam. AP Chem is generally one of the hardest AP classes and exams. AP Calc AB is a really easy exam but classes vary from school to school.
I took a similar schedule:
AP Bio
AP Language and Comp
AP Calc AB
AP US History
AP Foreign Language Literature
The ones that gave me trouble (meaning the ones that were not easy As) were AP Bio (lots of memorization and reading) and AP Calc AB (I'm not good at math so I had to work hard to get an A, even though the 5 was pretty easy to get)
I think that you should only add on AP Statistics if you feel it's absolutely necessary. The most important thing is to take the hardest courseload at your school. If taking those 4 other APs is considered the hardest courseload at your school, don't bother with AP Stats. AP Stats by itself isn't very difficult but you don't want to overload yourself for no reason at all.

I had 6 APs this year

Calc BC
Physics B
English Language
Euro History
Stats
US Government

and it definitely wasnt too much, i felt like i could have handled a few more. i got 5's on all except english language, which i self studied for about 30 minutes and got a 4

I took 12 in 2 years, and I'm still alive :)

That's so cool, al1nax01! I had the same four AP's my junior year, plus Biology. It was definitely manageable, but only because 1) I loved all those classes (except US history) and 2) I was able to figure out all my teachers. In other words, I could tell when I had to do what assignments, how much effort to put into them, and so on and so forth. Aka as long as you're an EFFICIENT student you can do just about anything. Don't freak out - stay calm, and maintain a positive attitude, and everything WILL work out.

I didn't think Calc AB and Chem were hard at all - in fact, they were my best classes all year. But that's because I'm a math/science person. Stats is super easy as a class, but the AP exam isn't as simple. For Lang you just have to be able to spit out amazing writing easy or work hard on assignments you aren't naturally good at, or just be able to do both. For US... um... I'm still trying to figure out how I got through that class. Boring as HELL. Practice those DBQ's!

Yeah I did 5AP's this past year plus holding down a job 15/20 hrs/wk as well as multiple EC's with leadership and doing applications and financial aid form, and I passed all of them, so if I can do it, you're definitely capable, and good luck with them :D
