5 classes...withdrawing okay??

<p>Greetings!
I'm a first year student at Colgate University who'd like to transfer next fall. I enrolled in 5 classes (4 is normal) this semester, and I don't like/don't think I'll do so hot in one of them.. Is the W going to look a little less bad because it was a fifth class, and even when I drop it I'll have a full courseload? or should I suck it up and get a bad grade/possibly have the workload of this class impact other coursework?? How bad is a W for transfer purposes?</p>

<p>The W would probably look better than a D or F, but it's definitely not a good thing.</p>

<p>Some schools care about W's and some don't. The thing they look for with W's I think is a pattern. If you are not doing this every semester I don't think you need to worry.</p>
