OK so what's the deal with .5 credit classes? is there a way on aces to see just half credit courses or something? and I read somewhere that we register for those later or something so I'm not really sure about stuff right now.

I don't think there's a way you can really search for half credit classes, but most of them are either Physedu, Dance, or House courses.

I believe as an incoming freshman you do have to register for them after your initial registration window. This isn't usually a big deal because anything like Yoga/Massage Therapy/Latin Dance is probably already full, and anything that isn't full isn't going to fill up fast, so I would wait and see what kind of academic schedule you have then throw something else in.

Does anyone know more about Egr 10 that's a .5 credit course? How much hw (if any) is there? Are there any tests/how are they?

All you do is attend the lectures once a week. There are no assignments. You just take a survey online each week to say whether you were there.

No exams either?

Yeh, no exams for EGR10. Actually the class is really just for your benefit. Take it if you want but it isn't required and it doesn't "look better" (or worse) its just a survey of stuff in Engineering that is provided so that you might glean something from it if you choose. (I've never heard of anyone failing the thing)

Honestly half credit courses really are mostly "for fun" classes that you just toss in there if you decide you have some extra time. You really don't gain anything from them in terms of fulfilling graduate requirements so only sign up for one if you want to learn how to do x. And remember the most popular ones will all be filled up so you may not find anything you like that you can sign up for till you are an upperclassman. (just like to stress again that you really aren't expected to sign up for a half credit course and that you should only do so if a course appeals to you)

Are there any half credits with an A-B-C grading scale?

Dance classes have an ABC scale.
