i've been using the standard 5 paragraph essay format for my entire life. intro, 3 examples, conclusion. i thought thats how it was supposed to be. yesterday i talked to my friends and they said that it should be a 4 paragraph essay: intro, example1, example2, conclusion. are they right?
ps. taking the test in less than a week.

Yeah they generally recommend two examples but either way, its not how many paragraphs you have but about the content that those paragraphs contain.

so the format would be the same except i just elaborate more on the two examples i have?

i think that the reason that many ppl discourage the use of three examples is that you tend to have your effort spread out, thereby causing your content to become lacking in much critical thinking as the two-example-essay.

so i’d say just go with two examples. besides, if you already have two and if you try to force yourself to think of a third example then you will have a brain fart. i found my own 11~12 sat essays to be depth more than breadth
