Ok, so I have 5 (4 transferable) total W's on my transcript!!

4 of the W's were all from my first semester at De Anza/Foothill which I was a junior in HS....

I have a 3.98 gpa, prereqs and igetc completed...anthropology major...
..however these W's are making me worry as ****!! My goal is to go to CAL. (I live here, my bf lives here...and I just love it here) I keep thinking that they'll look at my grades starting out with all W's....and simply reject me...What do yo guys think? Please ease my mind...I'm so nervous.....

Your gpa is impressive considering the number of W's you have on your transcript. You have proven yourself with your grades and I wouldn't worry too much about it. Good luck. I had 2 or 3 W's on mine lol.

Don't worry about it. You have a reaaaaaaaaaaally good chance of getting in.
In '07 there was 1603 applicants for Berkeley with a similar GPA as yours. 1159 got accepted. 72.3% chance Don't look into this too much though, the stats table didn't break it up into majors. I'd say you have a 99% chance!

Since you received your 5 W's when you were still in High School, I think they will understand. Because it would really suck if they counted those.

How do you know they don't count against you in admission. I'm just afraid it'll look really bad....but hopefully not AS bad...because it was mostly all from one semester where I had to move....and withdraw...
It's getting so closed to decisions....I'm just freaking out!

^ I agree with Malishka31 about the W's. Every teacher and counselor I've talked to say they don't matter as they know why you dropped it. It could be so many different reasons.

Even without the TAP i would say you will definatley get into at least one of them.

I am not too keen on doing UCB chances because i just dont really pay attention or care to how their process works relative to UCLA. But i would say in for UCLA

2007 average GPA of admits was about 3.5 for both BS and BA in anthro. Admission rates are 51 for BS and 68 for BA. So i will say 95%+ In at UCLA- other factors such as essays and the mood of the admissions committee i can not predict.

Berkeley i have no idea, but i would say that the W's have no impact, so it will be your essays if they read those for anthro and the applicant pool you are competing with. BUt i will say your chances are above 85% to be in
