Hi,
At ExploreUSC, I was told that you can get your master’s degree in 5 years (even in 4 if you have enough AP credit). I want to get an MBA after undergrad, so can somebody explain the specifics of this program? Furthermore, do I need to apply to their MBA program or can I just indicate I want to do it? The GMAT is also waived, right?
Thanks in advance.
You have plenty of time to figure that out, you don’t make moves on that till well into your coursework. Many come in saying they want to do the 5 year graduate program in this or that, and some do…but many change their plans as they get rolling along. I would look more into this when you are there and can talk to various departments and your advisor. There is absolutely nothing to do towards it as an incoming freshman.
We heard about the 5 year option as well. Is your intended undergrad in the business school as well?
Keep in mind, many students end up with well paying internships that lead to well paying jobs, so deciding to stay an extra year not only costs an additional year of time and tuition, but also a year of earnings. Most colleges offer these 4+1 masters now. It is something to discuss with advisor. I just watched a USC Q&A video session from where they basically said, “Yes, it exists, worry about that after you get here.”
