5 Year Dual-Degree in Finance

I am at Bard College (about two hours north of NYC), and have been thinking about enrolling in their 5 year Economics and Finance dual-degree (not double major) program. This means that I would get a B.S. degree in Econ. and Finance, and a B.A. in Political Studies (or whatever one wants). On my current track, I would get a B.S. in Economics with a concentration in Political Studies.

I've really never heard of a 5 year program that wasn't either in engineering or a bachelors/masters combo. I have talked it over with some of my professors, but how do you think this would look to potential employers and/or B-schools? Would I be considerably behind my peers? I have my sights set on either management consulting or private equity if that matters...

Let me also throw out this disclaimer: I worked full-time in finance for three years in high school (I took night classes for HS) and have both college-level marketing and college-level finance internships under my belt. So, I fully realize that getting a post-collegiate job is entirely dependent on my drive to get one…

Thanks!

Bump please.

Just my uninformed opinion - I don’t think it will be useful. A dual degree in Econ and Finance is kind of repetitive, IMO.

It’s actually a degree in Econ. and Finance, and another in another subject, like Poly. Sci. But I agree that it would be repetitive if it was just econ. and finance.
