Is it a good idea to get a joint BBA-MBA or is it better to get your BBA, get work experience, then go back for a MBA?

usually i've heard its better to get the work experience and come back, but wharton for example has a program that will admit students directly after their 4 years to the MBA program and it would be hard to turn that down.

If you aren't looking at doing submatriculation (as this is called) at Wharton or another top school (eg. Michigan, Kelley), you might be better getting a good job after undergrad if possible and then looking to enter a higher ranked school after 3-4 years.

You would get access to another network, another life and location (companies love mobility in employees), another educational experience, and perhaps new opportunities by attending two different b-schools.
