I am scheduled to graduate from Texas AM in May. So far on the Deans list with a 4.0 GPA. I just found out that I can’t apply to get my MBA here until 5 years from my undergrad graduation date. I don’t want to wait that long and let lifes unexpected gremlins delay my MBA. Is this a pretty standard thing at good business schools? Should I just go to one of the lesser schools that doesn’t have the 5 year requirement? Thoughts?
All the Best
All top business schools require applicants to have significant work experience after receiving their bachelor’s degree. Most schools specify a minimum of 2 years. TAMU states the same thing, a minimum of 2 years managerial experience. So where are you getting the 5 year figure from???

Thanks for the reply! Getting it off the website and confirmed by the admins. I was a little surprised to say the least! May look at UH or UTSA - both are good schools. My brother went straight to UTSA directly from his undergrad and has been VERY successful with it.
The TAMU business school website describes a full time MBA program as well as a program for working professionals but both only require 2 years of post-undergrad work experience.
That two year wait is the time period I had in mind - but isn’t what Ive found. Usually I’d go back and check but I already have. One prof did tell me not to give up hope - that if they needed the seat filled anything is possible! So…
Where are you checking on the website? The link I posted says 2 year minimum, not 5.
MODERATOR’S NOTE:
From the website:
Note that 2 years is standard for top MBA programs.
Since there is no point debating an issue for which a definite answer has been provided, I am closing the thread. If the OP wants suggestions on programs that accept students with less than 2 years, that should be asked on a different thread.
