another CC academic masochist !

nogardder,

I wouldn't recommend trying to get five master's degrees in five years, at least not for most people. But I guess my opinion isn't as negative as that of some of the other posters. Some people do have several interests and want to pursue all (or some) of them when they're young. Five master's degrees would open the doors to all sorts of jobs - you'd many options throughout the rest of your life, and this might not be a bad thing, especially if you like variety.
Some people really like school and studying and find it challenging. Some people are good at school and do well without having to go slave away. Getting multiple master's degrees isn't necessarily masochistic, as some others have pointed out. Some people enjoy the challenge and don't find it all that unpleasant.
Also, there are many schools out there that DO fund master's degrees, but you might have to look around a bit. But I'd guess that it would be tough to complete five master's degrees in five years... A lot of master's programs last for two years, if you go at a normal pace. Perhaps you could get through in one year if you take many courses, but I probably wouldn't handle that too well.

You might want to ask yourself if it'll be worth it in the long run. You might also want to evaluate what your motivations really are.
I don't think it's necessarily a bad idea, but it does sound a bit extreme.

Was the op a serious question?

Los,

It actually was, which is both mind bending and sort of sad.

Although education is extremely important - as I'm sure anyone posting on these forums will agree - there comes a time when you have to stop being a student and go out into the real world. For some people, it is after a bachelors degree, for others it is after a doctoral degree, for the really heroic ones it might be after an MD/PhD, but eventually you need to start a career and a family.

If you want to continue to be in an academic environment, then maybe you should search out a career in academia.
