50 points higher on SATs...will it make a difference????

My score for SATs was 1940
R700
M620
Essay620
SAT IIs
World History 750
US Hisory 700
Lit 620
ACT28 composite reading 30
AP US History 4

I am not applying to any schools that require SAT IIs but need merit aid and thought that would show effort because my school only offers 1 AP!!!. My GPA is 3.8 and I want to play volleyball at the DIII level. ( I know there is no scholarship $ with DIII). I have schools I am interested in but I am trying to figure out if it's worth it to take the SAT or ACT again....I have only taken them once.

Question: How much do the tests have to increase by on average to be in a better palce to receive aid?????

50 points certainly makes a difference and often getting 2000 or more is a threshold. It’s definitely worth it to retake whichever test you feel you can improve the most.

The difference between a 620M, 620W and a 670M, 670W is a significant one. In other words, if you can raise each of those sections by 50 points, it will give you more than just a small boost. Take a few official SAT practice tests and see what you score; if you’re consistently scoring 650 or higher on both sections, you’d be wise to retake. ;)

If you can increase by 60, I think it would be much better than 50
