if one of your b's was in gym would colleges see this as out of the top 10% or would they recalculated your gpa as inside the top 10%. My GPA is 3,9 and I take tons of AP classes, my school just doesn't rank..... wrong ranking, I mean 56/540... I couldn't edit the title.

I don't know. It probably varies from college to college, but I'm pretty sure that most colleges don't really care what you get in PE, especially in comparison to the core academic subjects. I got a B in PE as well. It prevented me from being a valedictorian, but that doesn't really matter. Then in second semester of my senior year I got a B in Sculpture. I was slightly concerned because I was admitted to Swarthmore, which is highly selective, but I was convinced that it didn't matter when my friend told me that "Colleges don't care what you got in sculpture." Of course they look at what grade you get in subjects like PE or Art, but it doesn't matter as much as in the core subjects: math, English, history, science.

colleges cant recalculate your rank- in order to do that they'd have to recalculate the averages of every person in your class. They can however, use their own system to recalculate GPA, and most schools would not really take PE into account.
(Although, if I were an admissions officer I would seriously question anything lower than an A in PE, because that is most likely laziness. Not saying thats the case in your situation, but I know at my school the only way to get lower than an A in gym is if you dont show up, dont change or dont participate at all.)

kmatimber 2, at my school P.E. is incredibly intense, with written and physical tests, and for someone who has never had to run more than a few miles in her life, it was difficult to make a B, so I really hope admission officers don't think like you do lol

Yes, at my school, it's the same. We have physical ability tests where we have to run a few kilometers and things like stretching and how much force you have in your muscles... If you participate and show up, you have a 78%, which is a B here.

I don't think they will recalculated your rank but they would calculate your GPA without PE in it. I don't think they really care...
