59% of Harvard's class is just 3 hooked types

there’s been a lot of discussion of how many seats there are for just the run of the mill straight A, 10 AP, 99%tile test scoring kids with lots of ECs and volunteer work. On this source they claim that 37% are legacies, 12% recruited athletes, and 10% Dean/Director’s interest list. This is not even subtracting seats for Internationals (typically 10%), URMs (typically 10-15%) and Pell grant/First generation … so it’s possible only a few hundred seats at each of the T20 schools are what we would consider unhooked kids.
